Every summer for the past six years MoezArt Productions has hosted a Summer Theatre Arts Camp. And every year we hear how much the students enjoy their summer days with us. Students from ages 10 - 18 attend breakout sessions and rehearsals for two weeks and at the end present quality plays.
THE PLAYS This year we will be doing several one act plays rather than one large production. This way more students will have good parts. Also we’ll be able to divide the age groups more effectively. We will be doing "All The World's A Stage" with other one acts to be determined by the directors on the first day of camp.
OPEN ATTENDANCE Over the years we have had a large request for public and private schooled students to participate in our Christian theatre arts programs. Although MoezArt is usually geared for the homeschooled community, registration is open to the public at our summer camps - meaning both homeschoolers and non-homeschoolers are invited, so be sure to invite your friends!
Breakout Sessions This year in an effort to make the camp a more intimate and unifying time for the students, we will be holding breakout sessions that everyone attends (rather than pick and choose) so that everyone can get a taste of all areas of the theatre arts. These classes will be divided by age groups and promise to be an exciting time for everyone! The sessions include acting, improvisation, auditioning, showmanship, comedy, drama, technical theatre, memorization and speech.
We meet Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM for two weeks, plus productions. 9:00 - 9:30 Opening & Devotions 9:30 - 11:00 Rehearsal 11:00 - noon Breakout Session 1 Noon - 12:30 Lunch: Each student will need to bring their own lunch. 12:30 -1:30 Breakout Session 2 1:30 - 2:30 Breakout Session 3 2:30 - 4:00 Rehearsal
Each camp will give three performances at the end of the two weeks: CHANDLER AREA: June 12 (7 PM) & 13 (2 & 7 PM), 2009 NORTH PHOENIX: June 26 (7 PM) & 27 (2 & 7 PM), 2009 One-Act plays will be decided on the first day of camp by the instructors.
